As a clinical research coordinator for the Institute of Healthcare Innovation, Mrs. Pennington’s primary responsibilities is to lead the development and management of the veterinary clinical trials and implementation of quality control procedures. In 2011 Mrs. Pennington passed her national boards to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.  As a clinical research coordinator she works with faculty and students at Midwestern University’s College of Veterinary Medicine on various studies. Her objective is to provide clinical measurements such as verifying patient medical history, obtaining vitals and preparing laboratory samples. Mrs. Pennington currently performs blood draws, catheter placements, radiographs, lab work and other assessments as needed for ongoing studies. She finds great importance in being part of a team discovering new treatments for naturally occurring diseases.
